Job Title: Youth Pastor
1st Level of Accountability: Associate Pastor
Days/Hours: 10-20 hours per week.
Qualifications:
● Demonstrates the character of a church leader described in 1 Timothy 3:1-13 and Titus 1:5-9.
● Pastoral & shepherding gifts that are exhibited in passion for reaching out and connecting people to the local church.
● Displays evidence of a mature and ongoing spiritual life and is passionate about the spiritual formation of individuals.
● Called and experienced in leading within a multi-racial, urban context and exhibit strong cross-cultural competencies
● Excels in mentoring, developing and discipling leaders
● Strong project management and organizational skills
● Satisfactory background, reference, and criminal check
Job Summary:
The Youth Pastor will minister as an Assistant Pastor in a growing multi-racial and multi-cultural church in Cambridge, MA. The Pastor leads a team to minister to Middle School students and High School students connected to Central Square Church and is responsible for the discipleship, care and shepherding of youth. Responsibilities include casting vision for the ministry, overseeing Sunday and midweek gatherings for youth, organizing special events and communicating and partnering with parents. The Youth Pastor also recruits, develops and disciples leaders and volunteers and nurtures communities of volunteers. This position works in coordination with other key ministries such as Families ministries and Sunday service teams.
Job Description:
I. Work as part of the Central Square Church pastoral staff team to advance the mission and values of Central Square Church.
II. Development, oversight and execution of the Youth Ministry
- Periodically organize community-building events.
- Provide pastoral care and spiritual direction for Youth and Youth Volunteers.
- Recruit, train, and support the development of new leaders and volunteers to sustain the ministry.
- Developing a sustainable mentorship/discipleship structure for youth.
- Coordinating events for high school and middle school students such as Fall Retreat and monthly social gatherings etc.
- Developing community service and outreach opportunities for high school and middle school students.
- Building relationships with students, their parents, and the wider church.
- Helping students discover their spiritual gifts and places they can use those gifts to serve others.
- Integrating students into the wider church.
- Connecting, collaborating and communicating with the Director of Children & Youth and fellow staff members.
III. Share in other “regular” pastoral duties as needed, such as special services, weddings, funerals, baptisms, etc.
IV. At the discretion of the Senior Pastor, supervision of staff personnel, including seminary interns.
V. At the discretion of the Senior Pastor, may be asked to engage in ministries outside of primary areas of responsibility.
VI. To encourage, counsel and support key leaders in the church (Romans 15-16).
VII. To pray regularly for the church’s welfare and spiritual development (Ephesians 1:15-19 and 3:14-21).

Senior Administrator

Days/Hours: 25-40 hours per week (hybrid)

● Displays evidence of a mature and ongoing Christian spiritual life
● Called and experienced in leading within a multi-racial, urban context and exhibit strong cross-cultural competencies
● Strong project management and organizational skills
● Sound decision and problem-solving abilities
● Satisfactory background, reference, and criminal check
Job Summary:
The Senior Administrator will work in a growing multi-racial and multi-cultural church in Cambridge, MA. The Senior Administrator will oversee the operations of the church, including finances, member and donor management, communications and marketing, building management, human resources, IT, and security. The Senior Administrator is expected to manage a team of volunteers and paid workers to operate the church. All administrative duties must be executed in a manner that upholds confidentiality. This role can be flexible as part or full-time and will be established in conversation with qualified candidates during the hiring process, depending on the candidate’s skillset, availability, and church needs.
Job Description:
I. Work as part of the Central Square Church pastoral staff team to advance the mission and values of Central Square Church by developing, overseeing, and executing Sunday Services and church activities.
II. Direct oversight of church operations and finances
- General Operations: Oversee day-to-day church operations, keeping Senior Pastor informed and working with Senior Pastor to make decisions.
● Supervise administrative team, including administrative assistant, contractors/vendors, and building-related staff and teams.
● Maintain and develop church management software (Planning Center)
● Provide event and administrative assistance for church activities, including setting up registration forms, payment, communications, and graphic support.
● Help develop systems and structures to improve administration and processes
● Work with Church Mission Council to execute legal and administrative responsibilities and support church activities
● Maintain, help develop, implement and enforce church policies and Employee Handbook - Finances:
● Work with outsourced bookkeeper to oversee church finances and bank accounts, including Accounts Payable Processing (invoices, check requests, payment delivery), vendor management (W9s/1099s, reviewing and approving quotes/proposals), financial reports, and payroll
● Manage and oversee donors and gifts (by processing donations and issuing tax receipts) and coordinate/train tithe counting team
● Work with Senior Pastor, Treasurer, and Admin board to develop, implement, and manage budget
● Review and approve credit card transactions
● Make weekly bank deposits - Human Resources:
● Oversee new employee onboarding and ensuring legal compliance; provide administrative support for potential job candidates
● Execute and manage employee benefits - Building management & security:
● Work with building manager and building committee to maintain work orders and provide input on building maintenance priorities for a historically designated building
● Coordinate and develop internal and external church signs
● Oversee and maintain door access and engage with third party consultant for burglar monitoring system and security camera system - IT: Provide basic support and management around IT issues, including coordinating IT services, troubleshooting, and assisting with purchases and maintenance
- Communications & Marketing: Oversee church communications via website, email, text messaging, social media, Sunday service bulletins and slides, and ministry/community email lists, ensuring clear, effective, and timely messaging
III. At the discretion of the Senior Pastor, may be asked to engage in ministries outside of primary areas of responsibility.
Skills, Credentials, & Experience:
● Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience)
● 3+ years related job experience for Senior Admin
● Able to work independently with minimal supervision and manage competing priorities.
● Strong interpersonal and people skills, and written and verbal communication skills
● High ethical standards and personal integrity
● Strong computer skills and knowledge of software typical to professional office environment (Microsoft Office, Google Suite); Preferred: knowledge of QuickBooks Online, Canva, basic HTML, church management systems (Planning Center)
● Flexible and responsive approach to shifting organizational needs
● Fast learner, curious, creative/innovative
● Access to car preferred
● Ability to help with basic physical tasks, such as moving equipment/furniture and lifting light-moderate weight boxes and equipment
