“The Confessing Church under Nazi Germany: Hard Lessons for Today” Seminar by Dr. Daniel Lee
Join us on Sunday 11/23 at 12:45pm in the Upstairs Classroom for this opportunity to hear from Dr. Daniel D. Lee of Fuller Seminary. This seminar will examine the historical context surrounding Hitler’s rise to power, including the factors that influenced support among some Christians. It will summarize the experiences and responses of the Confessing Church in Germany during the Nazi period, incorporating perspectives from theologians Dietrich Bonhoeffer and Karl Barth. Considering these historical insights, the seminar will facilitate a shared discussion on the meaning of faithfulness in the present day.
Dr. Lee is a founding Academic Dean of the Asian American Center and an Associate Professor of Theology and Asian American Studies at Fuller Seminary. His published works include Double Particularity: Karl Barth, Contextuality, and Asian American Theology. He also serves as a theologian in residence at Citizens LA Church.

Christmas Worship Coffeehouse
We’re turning the church lounge into a cozy Christmas coffeehouse on Saturday December 6 from 3-6pm in the Lounge! Come sing carols, sip cocoa, and share in the joy of the season. We’ll enjoy Christmas carols and worship songs together, along with hot chocolate, cookies, and stories that remind us of the hope Christ brings. Throughout the afternoon, we’ll also make space for members of our community to share short offerings of music, poetry, storytelling, or other creative gifts — all in a relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere. All ages welcome. Hosted by CSC Families Ministry and open to the entire CSC community. Parking consideration has been approved!
Interested in sharing something? We’d love to include you in our lineup of “coffeehouse acts”! Please email kuangshin [at] gmail [dot] com by November 30 to sign up for a short (around 3-5-minute) piece — whether it’s a song, poem, reflection, or another creative gift.
