Sunday School – Christian Nationalism
Join us on Sunday, August 25th at 12:45pm in the Lounge for a Sunday School on the topic of Christian Nationalism, taught by CSC Member Dr. Chandra Mallampalli.
In our context, Christian nationalism is the belief that America is a Christian nation and should implement laws and policies reflective of its Judeo Christian heritage. This class describes how Christian nationalists make use of the Old and New Testament to define America’s identity and some of the pros and cons of religious nationalism in general. It concludes by critiquing present day examples of Christian nationalism as examples of Judaizing and Gnostic heresy.
Church Clean Up Day
Following the Sunday Service on September 1 we will team up to clean & organize our building before Fall Kickoff.
We will need people who can help in all sorts of ways including moving heavy things, organizing & decluttering areas, and even wiping down the pews. Plan to stick around if you are able! We will meet in the Lounge and disperse from there.
Join a Sunday Serve Team
This month we begin to shift our focus towards preparing for Fall Kickoff with the hope of creating a welcoming and hospitable space for everyone, including the many new faces who will be entering our community for the first time.
One way we are preparing for the fall is by building up our Sunday Volunteer Teams – specifically the Kids Church team, the Youth Group team, the Hospitality team, and the Multimedia team (which includes people who run slides and people who run sound).
Would you consider serving on one of these teams? This is a great way to meet people, serve the Lord, and serve our church community!
