Led by Bonnie Gatchell from our CSC community, the Executive Director & Co-founder of Route One Ministries.
In our time together participants will learn about trafficking taking place in Greater Boston & New England, increase their awareness of the issue, and have an opportunity to respond through action. The lecture is framed within the Biblical narrative, provides current statistics, and draws from 15 years of field experience in anti-trafficking efforts. This is a great way for people new to the world of trafficking to learn and ask questions.
Led by Liza Cagua-McAllister, Systems Consultant for the Emmanuel Gospel Center.
This will be an interactive workshop exploring how we can pursue the kind of peace, justice, and flourishing God intends, while learning practical tools to engage the complex challenges we face in families, workplaces, and neighborhoods.
Led by Daniel Montañez, Executive Director of the Center for Public Theology and Migration as well as the co-editor of The Church & Migration / La Iglesia y la Migración.
This workshop will be an introduction to non-violent communication as a practical framework for reducing conflict and fostering understanding. Drawing on his work in public theology and migration, Daniel Montañez highlights how intentional listening, empathy, and clear expression can de-escalate tense situations. The talk emphasizes communication as both a personal skill and a social tool for building more just and compassionate communities. Attendees are encouraged to apply these strategies in everyday interactions as well as in broader contexts of conflict and division.
Led by Walter Clare and Cisco Paulino who are both a part of the CSC community.
Walter will share his story of being sentenced to life in prison in 2009, released in 2025, and finding faith while serving time. Cisco will serve as the moderator for the discussion and will share some of his own experiences.
Led by Rev. Clifford Maung, Pastor of the Overseas Burmese Christian Fellowship.
Rev. Maung will share about his experiences growing up in Myanmar, also known as Burma, under an authoritarian government, and current experiences pastoring a Burmese congregation in the United States. He will share about what it means to live faithfully in uncertain times and under oppressive rule.
