Peace Workshops are back again this spring! Join us on Sunday, May 3 at 12:30pm as we continue the series with a workshop called “Non-Violent Communication: A Tool for De-escalation” by Daniel Montañez who is the Executive Director of the Center for Public Theology and Migration as well as the co-editor of The Church & Migration / La Iglesia y la Migración.

This workshop will be an introduction to non-violent communication as a practical framework for reducing conflict and fostering understanding. Drawing on his work in public theology and migration, Daniel Montañez highlights how intentional listening, empathy, and clear expression can de-escalate tense situations. The talk emphasizes communication as both a personal skill and a social tool for building more just and compassionate communities. Attendees are encouraged to apply these strategies in everyday interactions as well as in broader contexts of conflict and division.

These workshops are open to the public so feel free to invite others. Childcare will also be provided.
